Biography
Vaidehi sought out Emory because she wanted to be in a school that felt big enough to always meet new people, but small enough that students don’t feel lost in a crowd. She found that the class sizes at Emory were very conducive to fostering meaningful connections with my peers and professors, and also loved how beauty and vibrance of the Emory campus and city of Atlanta.
During her studies at Goizueta, Vai also pursued a second major in psychology in Emory College of Arts and Sciences. This fed her fascination with the intersection of human capital and enterprise, leading her to pursue summer internships focused on change management. Unexpectedly, her coursework in Organization & Management also spurred a newfound interest in law and ethics.
Vai describes the Goizueta culture as “work hard, play hard.” She found that as a BBA, she was tasked with honing her time management skills to balance her full schedule, extracurriculars, and second major. She was able to receive support every step of the way, from peer mentors to academic advisors, faculty office hours, business library staff, and more. She also had the opportunity to unwind every Thursday on Patterson Green at the weekly BBA KEGS event, catching up with friends over food and drink.
Vai states that she received her first peek into embarking on a corporate journey via her required Professional Development course, which covered all the basics, from the kind of business professional clothing to wear, to curating a short list of companies to reach out to. She learned how to fine tune her search as an international student to make sure I found work that she loved, but equally important, that she would be sponsored.
Having recently graduated, Vai will be returning to the strategy/change management space in NYC where she will be working at Omnicom PR Group (houses the largest group of communications firms in the world) as a first year associate. In the future, she hopes to go to graduate school to complete a degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology.
