Eligibility Requirements and Prerequisite Classes
• Complete at least 60 credit hours prior to the start of the Master of Accounting including ACT 200 Accounting the Language of Business and any 300 level or above accounting course
• Have minimum Emory GPA of 3.0 or a minimum transfer GPA of 3.0 for external transfer applicants
Students that have not completed a 300 level or above accounting class may still enroll in certain graduate accounting (500-600 level) classes and then apply for the Master of Accounting program upon completion. Students with a lower GPA can petition for contingent admission. If accepted, they must maintain a 3.0 GPA throughout the Master of Accounting program. Students unable to complete all eligibility requirements by the first round application deadline can complete the requirements during the summer after applying. All requirements must be met before starting the joint BBA/Master of Accounting program in the fall.

Steps to Apply
Before applying to the Master of Accounting, make certain that you’ve completed the BBA eligibility requirements and the prerequisite undergraduate classes. Students unable to complete all eligibility requirements by June 1 can complete the requirements during the summer after applying. In any case, all requirements must be met before starting the joint BBA/Master of Accounting program in the fall.

- Current Goizueta BBA student or applying for internal or external transfer to Goizueta Business School
- Complete at least 60 credit hours prior to the start of the Master of Accounting including ACT 200 Accounting the Language of Business and any 300 level or above accounting course

Your Master of Accounting Academic Advisor will provide you a link to the online Master of Accounting Application. Application opens April 1. Priority is given to students who apply in Round 1. Applications can be edited and are not final until submitted. Once submitted, you will not be able to make any changes.
Academic Pathways
Select from a wide range of Master of Accounting academic pathways to maximize your career in investment banking, security analysis, consulting, corporate finance, corporate accounting, entrepreneurial enterprises, public accounting, and more! In addition, students may select a generalist pathway and complete any 10 graduate accounting courses.
Transcripts
You do not need to submit your transcript. By completing the application, you are granting us the right to access your Emory transcript.
Spring Academic Grades
The Master of Accounting Admissions Committee will receive information on your spring grades at the end of the semester. When submitting your application before Spring grade availability, complete the Emory Academic Grade Summary, have each instructor enter the current grade to date, provide an anticipated grade (if available), sign and date. Upload a PDF of the completed document with your application.
Statement of Purpose
The statement of purpose gives you an opportunity to provide additional information to the Master of Accounting Admissions Committee. Please limit your typed response to 300-500 words and explain how you believe the completion of the Master of Accounting degree will assist you in achieving your intellectual and professional goals. In your response, please describe the particular skills and talents you will bring to the master’s program and those you hope to acquire.
Resume
Include a resume or another one-page document listing your college, extracurricular, and/or professional activities. In the case of extracurricular and community activities, include years involved and offices held.
Additional Information
Include any additional information you believe is important to your application or address any areas of concern that you believe will be beneficial to the Master of Accounting Admissions Committee (i.e., details about completing prerequisite coursework, academic performance, Honor Council issues, or other extenuating circumstances).
Before submitting, thoroughly review your application and read the acknowledgement statement certifying that the information provided is true to the best of your knowledge.
Following receipt of your application, the Master of Accounting Admission Committee may require an interview if further information is needed. You will be contacted if the Master of Accounting Admissions Committee deems an interview is necessary to complete its admission decision. Candidates may not request an interview.
After your application is submitted, monitor your application. Once an admissions decision is made, candidates will be notified by email to view your decision in the Goizueta application portal. First round decisions generally will be made the middle of May and second round decisions by the end of June.
If your application is approved, the Master of Accounting program will provide you with details on the next steps, including formally accepting your offer of admission and adding any Master of Accounting specific courses to your schedule. You also will be invited to a mandatory Master of Accounting orientation in August.
